Should I Use Wix or GoDaddy Website Builders

Firstly, what is a website builder? A website builder is a tool that allows you to easily create a website by dragging and dropping elements onto a template. The tool usually includes plugins which can add features to your website, such as calendars.

You will have no trouble finding a website builder these days, but today we're going to discuss the main ones offered by Wix and GoDaddy.

These website builders might be quick and easy, but they aren't always the best option for your business. You might think you'll save money by creating your website yourself. However, in our experience, this is rarely the case.

If we had a penny for every client who approached us saying "I have a Wix website but it's driving me crazy" or "I have a GoDaddy website but I broke everything trying to change something"...

But they're easy to use though!

Well, are they easy to use? Grab a free template, paste your content, make some minor alterations and you're finished. Right?

I'm sure we've all had that experience using Microsoft Word where you add something to the document and the whole layout goes crazy! You frantically hit the Undo button, but somehow this makes it worse, the whole thing is now unravelling like a yarn of wool and two angry kittens!

And, let's not forget, these free templates are there for everyone to use. So, you now have a website that looks identical to everyone else.

But they're cheap!

My wife recently bought me some cheap socks, proudly stating "They're only socks and they're cheap" as she threw them in the trolley.

A few weeks later, the holes started to appear! Now, you cannot tell which hole to put your foot in! I ended up buying some good socks, so really we lost money in the end.

Where were we, cheap websites? These platforms often charge a monthly fee for your website, which is usually considerably higher than usual because they allow you to use their tools to build your own.

You might find you're tied into an expensive monthly cost to keep your website live - the same website you probably spent days trying to build and now fix because you made a boo-boo and the Undo button just unleashed two angry kittens onto your website!

Our conclusion?

If you buy a cheap table from Ikea, you get a cheap table! You built it yourself using free tools, but it's still a cheap table! If you buy a hand-carved solid oak table from a professional, you have a table for life.

If you want a website, don't buy a cheap one. If you want to build it yourself, don't use free tools. If you don't want angry kittens savaging your business, let us help!
